Lanora H. Biermann, 88, of Tripoli, died Monday, February 11, 2013, at the Tripoli Nursing Home.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013, at Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli with Rev. Marilyn J. Sargent officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 until service time at the church on Friday. Inurnment will follow at Faith United Church of Christ Cemetery in Tripoli. Rettig Funeral Home in Tripoli is assisting Lanora’s family.
Lanora Hannah, daughter of Herman and Lizzie Wasserfort Bolte, was born March 22, 1924, in Black Hawk County, Iowa. She attended country school near Janesville. On January 26, 1943, she was united in marriage with Leslie Biermann in Lancaster, Missouri. Prior to the birth of her children, Lanora worked at various produce businesses in Tripoli. She and her husband farmed for many years in the Tripoli area. Lanora always enjoyed fishing, and in retirement she and Les spent many days fishing in Minnesota lakes. She is a longtime member of Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli.
In addition to her husband, Leslie of Tripoli, Lanora is survived by three daughters, Karen (Ron) Durbin of Panama City, Florida, Sue (Larry) Boerschel of Readlyn, and Jean (fiancé, Jim Boatner) Croell of Holmen, Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two brothers, Bernard (Pauline) Bolte of Fredericksburg and Forrest (Glenyce) Bolte of Vinton; and one sister, Vernitta Sievers of Tripoli.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and LaVonna Bolte, and Clarence and Renetta Bolte; and one sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Glenn Biermann.
